Barbershop Quartets

The barbershop genre is a big part of the Somerset Choral Music Department.  Students are exposed to barbershop in various ways such as tag singing, watching/listening to recordings, concerts, and singing in barbershop quartets.  There are currently two quartets at the High School.  Both ensembles formed on their own, and do a lot of rehearsing outside of the school day.

J.T. and the Boyz formed in the spring of 2011 as a class project for choir, and has been going strong ever since!  The quartet has performed for many local barbershop shows, talent shows, and has done multiple performances at the elementary and middle schools of the Somerset School District.

A.T. Double K was formed for the 2012 W.S.M.A. Solo/Ensemble Festival.  The group originated with all freshmen girls, and since then they have expanded their repertoire and performed multiple times throughout the community.
